“Just been on the phone with David Edwards from Edwards Agricultural Supplies. Ordered another two big tubs of seaweed, about 60 acres here. So pleased with the crop we had and so pleased how green it was.
Speaking with David this morning, his recommendations were, when you cut the grass, it stresses the grass out. So needs a little bit of a boost. So by spraying as quick as you can after cutting the silage it will give you quicker growth and better healthy grass.
So we need the after growth then for fattening our lambs and getting the ewes off the mountain later on in year. So the quicker the grass grows the better our animals are and the quicker we get them off.
So watch this space. They're en route. Hopefully I'll get them. Monday or Tuesday we've got a few weeks of silage to do again. Once we've done that, it'll be spray, spray, spray more seaweed. Living the dream.”
