Microscopic evaluation of soil gives a good indication of the biological aspects of your soil. It allows the visual evaluation of mineral reserves and humus content and overall bacteria population.

The number of samples taken are dependent on the consistency of the soil within the area to be evaluated and the sites previous and current use.
Our analysis is completed by a UKAS accredited ISO/IEC 17025 Analytical Laboratory. Results are detailed within an easy to read written report explaining what the results mean and any recommendations for improving your soil.
We examine under a microscope to evaluate the 'life' that is present within the soil.

TISSUE ANALYSIS
Tissue analysis determines what your animal is eating. Within grassland leaf is always more desirable than stem for both nutrient quality and digestibility. A higher dry matter grass is more desirable as this increases the quantity of nutrients available to ingest.
The neutral detergent fibre describes the digestibility of the tissue, whereas the carbohydrates or sugars are an easily digestible source of energy.
Crude protein content consists of true protein and non-protein Nitrogen (Nitrate Nitrogen). True protein is higher in younger plants as are oils, another source of energy.
The ash content refers to the mineral content of the tissue with a high ash value having a greater content of mineral within the sample.
The D value is a direct reflection of the digestibility of the sample, whereas the ME or metabolisable energy is the nutrient efficiency of the digestible component i.e. The energy that the animal uses rather than being lost through excretion.
